I didn't have any expectations for Deromo's and only ate here by recommendation of a neighbor. It turned out to be a very authentic Italian experience. Food- We started off with some fried mozzarella, bruschetta, and I got a bowl of the pasta fagioli. There were only two slices of fried mozzarella on the appetizer, but they were pretty big. They were also really tasty, not greasy at all like your average mozzarella stick. The bruschetta was pleasant as well. The bread was perfectly crisp, and balanced out by the soft fresh tomatoes with balsamic. The pasta fagioli didn't have any outstanding flavors from a normal pasta fagioli, but it was delicious because you could taste that all the ingredients were fresh. For dinner I had the eggplant parmesan with a side of linguini with marinara. The eggplant tasted good, but once I got in the middle, it was ice cold. I sent it back and the owner came to apologize and everything so all was good. The eggplant could have been a lot crispier, which is why I took off a star. The pasta side was heavenly. The marinara sauce was perfect, not too chunky or too liquid-y, and the pasta was cooked to the most wonderful al-dente I've ever had. Another member of the table ordered the special which was the lobster ravioli in a tomato creme sauce with shrimp. The lobster ravioli were cooked perfectly as well, although a little too much of a seafood taste for me. The shrimps however were amazing. They were really big for not being the star of the plate. The creme sauce was nice as well. I also tried some of another members chicken marsala, which I could tell was home made too because it tasted like my grandmas (not as good as grandmas of course) but still right up there. Other members of the party said the lasagna and chicken fettucine alfredo were good too. Service- The Service was outstanding, our waiter was a bit boisterous but was a pro at what he does. Constantly refilled drinks and memorized our orders, not to mention he had a great knowledge of the menu. It was also extremely fast, food was brought out very quickly. Would recommend to anyone looking for some great Italian. Walking though the market is also fun, and is a good place to pick up some lunch to make at home rather than frozen food from costco or target.

This was my first time here. Will not be my last. Surely one of the best restaurants in Naples. So many very nice and caring servers. All three meals at our table were awesome. I little to much food. Amazing pastas. Two seafood dishes were top notch. This owner is very good at running a restaurant. ...

I've gotten take out from here before and wasn't really impressed ( meatballs ).However after going back for a sit down dinner I was pleasantly surprised. I got the chicken Parmesan which was excellent. Nicely cooked with just the right amount of sauce and cheese. My wife got the risotto which I tried and was very good also. Clean and great service

Food was good. Very disappointed in the service we received. They were very short staffed. Our so so experience started when we weren't allowed to be seated because a member of our party was running late. Bad choice on managements part. We would have had a drink or two while we waited but instead sat on cement benches waiting to be seated. Then waited for 15 minutes to get a server to take a drink order. Finally a manager came over to take our order. Another hint to management... Pepper shakers on the tables. Had to ask 3 times for pepper. Then twice the grinder that the waiter brought was empty. Get a clue. Food was tasty but lukewarm when brought to the table. I know this restaurant has only been open two weeks but you really really need to pay attention to the little details.

Food was very good. Wait staff was very plesent. The food presentation and flavor was well done. I would recommend if you are in Bonita Springs, this is a good place for lunch or dinner. I would have given it a full five stars however our bread dishes were dirty. The waiter replaced the quick once we showed him.

Food is well prepared and presented. You get what you pay for, and a little extra: great value. Fish and shellfish was fresh, gnocchi was excellent.

Great place to enjoy an Italian meal with friends. Excellent range of menu choices. Decent pricing. Go early and shop in the deli store - I couldn't believe the number of line items in this store. I wonder why they don't keep the deli open as long as the restaurant is open! doesn't make sense to close it earlier because a lot of the purchases will be refrigerated items and you wouldn't want to buy them prior to eating in the restaurant and leaving the sit in the warm air or in your car during your dinner JFJ FtMyers

Food was tasty Had the veal chop, not a bad choice but I have had better Service was average at best, staff was unimpressive

I am from Jersey and this place reminds me of home. As I love to say, "Good deli!" which means good sandwiches, deli meats, toppings and breads. And they have so much more, like pizza, butcher shop, prepared foods and bakery. They also have grocery items and a full scale restaurant. Service is like in Jersey. You better have a loud voice and be able to get someone's attention otherwise you ain't gonna eat! Try the bagels. They blow everyone else's in the Ft, Myers/Naples area out the door! It's a little hard to see from Rte. 41 South but if you know where The Promenade is located in Bonita Springs, you will find it. Get there early!

Great food , great atmosphere and great service . LOVE the market. The cavatelli with sausage and broccoli rabe was fantastic! ...and that's coming from a New York Italian chick! We did have a little issue with flies sitting on the outdoor terrace do I recommend sitting inside. Well the flies weren't sitting on the terrace, we were ... But you knew that didn't you? Go! Make time for the market!

We shopped in the market: a Gourmet Italian market with lots of fresh foods, deli and butcher. A separate restaurant where we had dinner. The chef is amazing and prepared our meals to perfection. Chilean Sea Bass, Lobster dinner, Bone-in Ribeye. Everything was great. We loved the atmosphere and the service was attentive and quick.

5 star - Ambiance 3 star - Food 3 star - service 5 star - catering gift shop I know, I know my math is all wrong to average 5+3+3+5 and arrive at 3 overall stars. But here's the fuzzy part of the equation. I really, really wanted to be blown away by the authentic NY resto. My friends who don't go near computers raved. I started at the gift shop, located in retail space right across from the restaurant. Fan-effin-tastic. Pasta being made behind the glass partition. Overworked yet friendly Catering specialists. Lots of gift baskets displayed for purchase, starting at about $18. Then I walked across the sidewalk to the restaurant and it was suddenly 1958. Cougars line the bar. It's pretty outside with the fountains flowing. This retail center should be called Lazarus instead of Promenade. It was empty for so long but is almost fully rented now, My server assumed I was a sweet old lady and offered to show me desserts , " if you clean your plate." At the end of the meal and in a reprise of "Assisted Living, The Musical," same server whisked away my butter and bread plate. I got it replaced, but here's why that was important: Entree Fail. The tagiatelli was hand-made, al dente, and divine. The broccolini was chopped fine and used as garnish without more substance. Hello, Sun dried tomatoes the size of the sun. The sausage was an insult. Bland, riddled with gristle and sliced in Green Giant portions. Which takes me to a free association. Is it just me or are the size of "bites" prepared by a kitchen in direct correlation to the size of the dining room chairs? You are in fat a** land here. Expect large servings. To be fair, I might give the place another try. For now: 3 star Meh.

This is a new restaurant, only open since November. Great setting. This time of the year is best to take advantage of this restaurants open outdoor seating. We sat in a large covered patio that also flows into the main rooms. Service was very good. Good dependable food. The mozzarella, tomato and pepper appetizer was excellent. One order was enough for 4 people. I had the flounder franchise and it was good. Lois had pasta with what might be one of the best meatballs I ever tasted. Tony and Margaret had predicable pasta dishes of lasagna and sausage with broccoli rabe. Prices are reasonable. Be sure to make reservations well in advance during the season. Nice feature is their Italian market attached. Lots of great wine, meat, bakery goods and other specialty items.

Atmosphere I give 5 stars. Service 2.5 stars. Food quality 4 stars.... presentation on the chicken parm was a little week. No one wants their chicken parm looking like you just threw a slice of cheese over it. Honestly this place is pretty awesome. i sat at the bar this afternoon and ordered the olive/cheese app and a chianti. Chianti was sub par. Sat thru dinner without them checking on me once... no water. I even had to yell across the bar for a refill on the wine. Changed my wine selection, yet they poured it in the same glass. Staff is either undertrained, or they just dont care. Absolutley gorgeous place, but the manager need to start cracking the whip. People expect top notch service at a place that presents itself as "upscale."

Really cute place and the food is great. This has a market that sells food ready to eat as well as food you can bring home and cook, and then the dine in restaurant. I actually only ate from the market and everything was really good. You can buy pizza by the slice and each one is a quarter of a pie....so very large, NY style. Very good pizza. Also tried a meatball sub sandwich....the meatballs are huge, really meaty, and taste great. I'm sure the restaurant is even better.

  • Joni P.

The meal was excellent. The service was even better! Luis (the waiter's assistant) was on top of it-- and made sure to let us know that they offered many delicious specials that night. Adrian was our server and he was charming and delightful. Wine was amazing (of course!). All in all-- a 5 star night.

Been twice. Very good food. Extremely loud. Total confusion at hostess station. Consistently terrible service. All in all, I think avoid for a while. Maybe management will change or wise up and train their staff. The food is very good but can't overcome the frustration of poor and untrained servers.

Thank you so very much Francis for a magnificent divine lunch. The food was superb and the tiramisu was so delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed every little bite. I love the market it reminds me of the markets I used to shop at downtown Chicago. It was a splendid happy day. You are a wonderful generous man and we can't wait to see you again when Walt performs. A hundred stars. 5 stars is absolutely not even close.

So, my wife and I walk in and... WOW, it's an EXPERIENCE not just a market & restaurant. We sauntered through the market chatting with the outstanding staff who are so friendly! We ended up bringing home 3 individual slices of gourmet pizza, to get a flavor of multiple pizzas at once. "Individual" slice is quarter of a pizza. Top shelf! No surprise, but we'll be back... OFTEN.

I've never eaten in DeRoma's restaurant, but I've shopped in their deli often. I think they are a little pricey but some things are worth the price and some aren't. I love their Italian pastries and their fresh bake breads. Their pizza dough is the best if you like making your own pizza. Their authentic Italian cured meats are to die for and well worth the premium. Their butcher counter looks great and although I haven't bought a lot of their butcher items, what I have bought has been very good. We've never bought any of their fish until today and unfortunately it will probably be the last time. My wife bought a piece of grouper today and when I opened the package it stunk up the kitchen. I'm a fisherman and a chef and know fresh fish. Fresh fish doesn,t smell and this fish wasn't fresh . It was at least 7 to 10 days olds. I've bought much fresher fish across the street at one of their competitors and around the corner at the fish markets on Bonita Beach road. DeRoma's Deli like most places has it strengths and it's weakness. Fish is definitely not one of it's strong suits, but don't right it off, I will definitely be back.

Disappointed went here for my husbands birthday when we arrived host asked if we had a reservation. When we said no she made a face and motioned for us to follow. She then sat us at a table under a dripping vent next to a open door. We didn't complain till water started dripping all over my husband. We finally flagged down the waitress who basically ignored us. Asked for another table and she replied yes ma'am. About 5 minutes later a busser with a rag on the end of a broom head started wiping the ceiling vent splashing my husband with more water. After that we no longer drank from our glasses because they were dirty. We would have left but we had already ordered. The meal took a little over an hour to come by then the water had collected and started dripping....... again. Food was okay, price was high for what was served (not very hot) Waitress basically ignored us never changing the glasses, didn't offer a dessert menu or coffee. Yelled at co-workers in front of us about table #41, 42, &43. (don't ask me, I think she shouldn't have done it in front of us) I personal would not recommend this restaurant because they clearly don't put their customers first. And I'm afraid I would get sick if I ate there again.

Disappointed for the 3d time. You think I would learn! Service was just OK. Waiter had a terrible getting drinks form the bar. When meal was served we asked for another glass of wine. When we were completely finished and looking a desert, the wine arrived. First visit we had lasagna and it was a good portion and very good. This time it was two layers of noodles, minimal meat and about 3 lbs of cheese. Couldn't believe it! Continued to question the waiter if this really was the Lasagna and he finally said 'it comes out different every time'. So so much potential but surely not there yet.

Had dinner here last night. First let me start off by saying I highly recommend making reservations otherwise you will wait awhile, it was packed! The atmosphere was was nice, our service was great and the food is delicious. We had the calamari appetizer, best I've ever had! I wasn't very hungry so I had the lentil soup and pan seared asparagus, so good! My guests had the vodka penne with meatballs & they said it was also delicious. Oh please don't let me forget to mention the warm, ciabatta bread they bring to the table, oh my!! The marketplace in front of the restaurant is overwhelming in a beautiful way! I really hope the Promenade comes back to life & hope this restaurant helps bring business in. I will def be back to eat here & will highly recommend!

I love De Romo's. I could actually eat here everyday. Whether it's dinner or to run in and grab something from the market, it truly is the best thing that's ever happened to Bonita Springs. Cheers!!

This deli/restaurant right out of Boston or NY, food as good as my mothers home made Italian food. Ate first at restaurant, meatball sub for me, chicken parm for hubby, excellent quality and quantity for price. Next went into deli, omg, I thought I was in the North End of Boston. Also met the owners mama. Ciao Bella, we are going back soon.

We almost cancelled our reservations after reading the recent reviews on Yelp. We went and are glad we did. Everything was great and we will definitely go back........and soon! Open table reviews are more accurate. DeRomo's was just named one of the top 10 in Naples. This is a great new place to eat in Naples.

Very long wait, even though we had a reservation. Ended up being seated about 30 minutes after our reservation time. The flies outside are out of control, so make sure you get a table inside and hope you don't have to wait too long for your table. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Chicken parm was good, but smaller than expected and nothing out of the ordinary. Prawns and risotto special was really quite good.

Been there 3 times and looking forward to going back. Excellent service, great atmosphere, amazing food: their cheese and cold cut platter is outstanding. I also recommend their gnocchi, ravioli, risotto bianco, lasagna, lamb chops, all of which are top notch. The staff is courteous, and willing to accommodate any special request. Great atmosphere. Outside seating seems cozy, except for the heaters even when it's mild -not cool- outside. You may feel the back your neck will catch fire: I have never understood that sinister practice. Don't forget to waltz over to their charming NY Style market.

Our second visit, there won't be a third. Despite reservations, our party of six was seated at a much too small table. In the process of changing tables our utensils and water went missing and we had to ask several times for replacements. To be fair, most of the food was good but one order of osso buco was inedible. We had two ask twice to speak to the manager, Tom. When he appeared at the table after 20 minutes, we asked if he was Tom. His reply was, "that depends". He then tried to manipulate the meat and convince us that it was fine. He then left never to return. We did not see another staff person for 20 minutes. Another server we did not know deposited our bill on the table and scurried away. Tho we had requested separate checks, this did not happen. The offending entree was removed and a 'managers compensation' allowed in the amount of $23. No one ever came to take the bill and we were left dividing the charges and leaving cash but no gratuity. The service overall was unacceptable with most fault assigned to management for either staffing or training deficiencies. The level of service needs to step up or people will not return.

Went back tonight and happy that things are very much improved. We had the burrata, tuna carpaccio and caprese appetizers and all were delicious. We then moved to the veal Milanese, grilled salmon, and a great NY strip. The steak was cooked perfectly with very tasty mushroom red wine reduction. As good as any steak I've had at some famous NY steakhouses. The others loved their entrees too. Service is much improved (though they still charged for a pasta / potato swap). Now definitely worth the trip.

Don't bother! It's not worth the expense. There is better Italian food with better service at a better price elsewhere. We stopped in one evening newly moved to the area. Our server at first was great, then after we received our meal we didn't see him until we got the check. No... How was your meal or would you like another drink? But he had plenty of time for the couple two tables down, completely ignoring us. It's a shame... The ravioli was fab, but we will not be back.

We had heard about a new Italian market, so decided to drop by for a Sunday afternoon look-see...We were excited from the moment we walked in & saw the bakery--stocked w/ Savoiardis, Sfogliatellas, Napoleans and the like...We decided to grab a bite from their hot sandwich take-out: I enjoyed the Chicken Parm; chicken was moist & NOT smothered in breading. I probably should've ordered add'l sauce, since it is put on thick bread, but nonetheless it was a great tasting sandwich! My husband--a NY-raised Italian--got the Sausage & Peppers sandwich. He was immensely satisfied. In addition, he ordered a slice of cheese pizza for us to try--it had good flavor and the crust had good texture--not too crisp or doughy... We purchased a few bakery dessert items, loaves of bread and some meatballs and sauce to bring home. We found the plain marinara sauce to be somewhat lackluster, while the meatballs were not thoroughly cooked (even though the label suggested otherwise)--the meatball flavor was not our preference & we would not purchase either, again...On the other hand, the desserts? Simply delicious! IMO, the only other observation that stood out was the worker taking our sandwich orders mumbled / was difficult to understand (Note: My family says I have the hearing of a Golden Retriever, so hearing loss is NOT the issue!) He was not helpful / engaging when other customers asked him questions, either--maybe he would be of better use, where he doesn't have to interact w/ customers as much? We will return to try other food selections, but will delay trying the restaurant until the Reviews show significant improvement...

Four stars on food, would have been Five except that my Polo Alla Coumo, which was a delish moist chicken cutlet, lightly breaded and topped with prosciutto and thin eggplant with mozzarella and baked perfectly came with roasted potatoes, not that that is a big deal, but I don't like roasted potatoes and the menu clearly stated it came with garlic mashed potatoes. By the time I finally got the attention of our indifferent waiter (Frank) I was done with my meal and he offered nothing but a mumbled complaint about the kitchen staff and to bring me a plate of mashed potatoes (I was done with my meal and I didn't want mashed potatoes for desert). Like I said, not a big deal but I'll get on my soap box a bit and complain about menus that do not represent the dish exactly. Twice in the last month or so I have received dishes (not at this restaurant) that made no mention of artichokes but included them. Artichokes have a strong taste that I don't care for, just having them on the plate ruins the dish for me, but I digress. Back to De Romos, the food was really good, my wife's pasta and sausage was a dish she loved, the atmosphere very nice, but our waiter was not friendly and attentive, he was not rude, but not friendly either. The young man who served our food and cleared the plates was very nice. I'll be back here, and just hope for a wait person who likes their job better.

We tried this restaurant twice this winter. However, we will not return. Although our meals were well prepared, the place is loud, cramped, and unfriendly. Receptionists frown and smirk. Waiters are inflexible about choices. My diabetic husband wanted a small side of potato plus a cooked vegetable. The server refused. There are many restaurants close by that serve superb meals and value their customers.

When we first passed by the night before, and checking out the market, I was impressed. They gave out while pizza slice samples and we bought something from their pastries and it was excellent. I expected the same service and taste from the restaurant, but was disappointed. On a Friday night, this seems like the place to be. People dress up a little and hardly anyone us here without holding a wine or beer glass. We didn't have reservations with an hour wait we opted to sit at the bar. It was quite comfy with a wide countertop sitting outside facing in. I wasn't impressed with service. I get it that they are busy but ignoring us and serving the folks next to us first wasn't nice. I felt there was an ageism thing going on. When we finally flagged them down, hubby ordered a beer and I asked for a virgin mojito. He gave me a look, repeated it as if I had said something foreign and questioned his ability to make one. Said that he hasn't made anything virgin in 20 years. I was offended that I was being judged like that and really, just make my drink. When we came back, he again questioned his ability to make it but at least they had the decency to charge me a coke instead of a full cocktail. I think because of all this he also carded my husband. Mid way through our meal, hubby realized his beer glass was cracked. He said it just happened and ask if he could have his remaining 1/4 beer be poured into another glass. The guy couldn't hear him, dumped out the beer and started pulling out a new beer. When we told him we didn't want one, he didn't understand and thought we didn't want a glass. We repeated ourselves and wasn't until another server had to translate for him. He seems shocked we didn't want another free beer. Nor did he take off the beer off the check (which he had already printed up). I don't like to be judged through my meal by a guy who thinks I should be drinking more. I had higher hopes for the food but sadly disappointed too. . Got the veal tortellini in a cream sauce. The sauce was more a soup. It was so thin I wondered if they even make it from scratch or how long it's been sitting there, it was really watered down. It tasted okay but I expected more. Also got the cavitelli with sausage and sundries tomatoes and broccoli rabe. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente but the whole dish had a burnt bitter taste. I get it, the broccoli is a bitter leaf, but there are seasonings to overcome this. Maybe that's what's missing from everything. Seasoning. Maybe it's catering to an older crowd who doesn't like seasoning? I didn't feel welcome here. A little sad.

Lunch was disappointing. The meatball sandwich was...unusual. The meatballs were not balls. The texture was very soft and they crumbled into something more like ground beef when cut into. That might have been OK except for the lack of sauce. And it came with fries...very soft and soggy fries. The salad sounded delicious on the menu but no....again soggy! Not a hint of balsamic as described but something watery and bland...a very boring, wet salad. Hesitant to give them another chance if basics such as a meatball sandwich and a salad could be prepared and served so badly.

Went this past weekend for the first time. Place was packed but that doesnt mean a thing. The food was grossly overpriced and the portions are very small. The service was pretty good..nothing equal to the prices though. Our bill was about 140 before tip for 4 people. 2 glasses of wine and 1 appetizer plus 4 entrees. Make a reservation because you wont get it without one. Food was served hot which is a huge plus when you come from a restaurant background. I had risotto with shrimp and it was very heavy, tasty thought, and packed with shrimp. It was also close to $30.00 I believe. I doubt Ill go back.

Must admit we have been looking forward to trying this place for some time now and was very disappointed. The atmosphere is great, but the food was average and the service was poor. We had the special appetizers which was sausage & rapini and prosciutto & mozzarella....both were good, but over priced for what was served. I had the chicken parmesan which was good, but for the price I expected it to be great...could get the same quality at Olive Garden for much less. Bread was horrible...saw other tables being served fresh hot ciabatta bread with olive oil for dipping...we received dinner rolls with foil wrapped butter. No serving utensils with appetizers, two of us had wedge salads and nothing was given to cut the wedge and also had ask for cracked pepper, no water refills, and we sat there for a long time waiting on our check. For a place that is suppose to be upscale it is average and due to poor service a below average dining experience.

The last two times I ate here I thought I had found heaven. Today the food was as goo and the staff as friendly, but my only concern was the bathroom. It is very pretty but the paper towel dispensers were both empty and a huge roll of paper towels had been set on the vanity. This is wasteful and less sanitary. And I hope not a sign that they can'taintain standards. I will be checking state inspections on line.

Went to inside restaurant on past sunday 3/15/2015, with a party of seven with reservations for a late lunch. and happy that things must be very much improved after reading some past reviews .All in all atmosphere, Food, service and prices were good. We had the fried zucchini along with calamari as a table appetizer and both were very good. Prices seemed uneven as both were $14. We then moved to the main courses..i had the mahi sandwich w fries...great...two had veal parm..ok but it is hard to get really good veal anywhere.. 1 had .an appy eggplant parm...good..everyone was satisfied..all prices except the $14 fried zucchini was fair.. Service is much improved according to one quest who had eaten there before..

Excellent food great selection amazing amazing amazing Amy is the best chef I'm not sure about. I asked to accommodate a fillet steak cooked at 16.99 a pound and the chef came back with a $41 price tag to cook the steak a little let down knowing whole foods would do this for no charge. But Amy the manager is amazing hands-down the best and has it together. Picked up some squid ink pasta after a wonderful lunch with a meatball hero and eggplant hero and a sausage and Pepper hero yummy Yum.

We had our daughter's confirmation luncheon at De Romo's today and it was a great experience! The service was excellent! Our server, Matt, was very attentive and accommodating. The food was excellent! We shared the cold antipasta for 2 (which was enough for 4,) calamari with fried zucchini (both crispy and delicious) and the olive plate. Everyone ordered entrees off of the lunch menu and everyone was very happy with their choices. The portion size was substantial, enough to take some home.We found the restaurant's decor & ambiance to be very pleasing (we enjoyed a semi-private room) with a large bar that is open to the outdoor area. It's located in The Promenade at Bonita Bay which has several nice shops. The restaurant has tables outdoors under a covered portico that overlooks a beautiful, large fountain. None of us had been to De Romo's before but we all left saying we would definitely be back for dinner and date night.

Tried DeRomo's last night after enjoying the market and had high expectations. We were crammed in to a booth too small for a party of 5 and then told there were no other options in the empty restaurant. Rude hostess. Our drink order was poorly executed and clearly the bartender was not up to the task as the remade drinks were also poorly executed. The meals were misses for the most part with the exeception of the cheese ravioli and the calamari. The worst was when we sent back the one meal because it wasn't wasn't the grouper we ordered and the bass was delivered back to us. Skip this place until they get it together.

What are the waiters doing with silverware in the bushes?! After eating, we saw our waiter and another pick up a bin of silverware from the bushes! It made me wonder whether my utensils were clean or not. I will not be going back because of this and certainly will not recommend this place. Also the food was mediocre. We tried the linguini with clams and lasagna. I Have had better Italian food locally. It's a shame cause it seems like a nice place with potential.

Market offers amazing bakery goods like the hard to find pasticotte filed with chocolate or vanilla. A pure delight. Fine wine and Prosecco selections, as well. Pizza is old school Italian and a must try. The restaurant featured a Burrata appetizer with prosciutto that was quite a treat. Outstanding customer service. Worth drive from Naples.

This restaurant has a long way to go to be a 5 star eaterie you may be sitted outside which is ok as long as it's not cool. The food is ok nothing to rave about. The prices are way over the top for the food you will eat. Many other better places to dine which have better food and better prices. You will pay 5 star prices for 3 star food. The management could care less. We were seated outside it was cold and they could care less. This is not what I am looking forward to for fine dining you can do better at Olive Garden was very disappointed.

Today I decided to try DeRoma once again - hoping they have their act together. I think that was wishful thinking on my part. I called this morning to make a reservation for 5 people and spoke to "Ritzie" who was neither helpful nor polite. I asked to be seated inside this time bacause we will have a baby with us and it is rather cold. Her response was she couldn't guarantee inside - no excuses - no sorry - nothing. I am thinking what is it with the management of this restaurant. Don't you read the reviews - over and over people are unhappy with the service and attitude and this is the person you have greeting your guests and answering the phone. Wake up management!!!!!

Had lunch there yesterday with my partner. There is absolutely nothing inviting about this restaurant. The decor is very boring and blah, a little noisy as well. Employees had very little personality. My meatball hero sandwich and fries were just ok. My partner took one bit out of his spaghetti and meatballs and said I can't eat this. Sauce was like tomato soup and spaghetti was not cooked, I tried it and he was right. There are too many other Italian restaurants that are much more better than this one. Its a shame because we have been waiting to try this place since they opened last fall. We won't be going back.

On Our first trip to any newly opened.restaurant we usually give leeway to the server. DeRoma needs more latitude. the food was two star or less. Expect average food in beautiful surroundings. The retail store had excellent offerings. Buy from the store and cook at home.

This was our first time having dinner in the restaurant. We've shopped in their market and I would give the market 5 stars. Great meats, deli, bakery and cheeses so were were a little disappointed with dinner. We started with the Polpette and Melanzane both were good but rather bland with little flavor. The whipped ricotta with the meatballs was a good touch. For our main course my partner had the veal marsala and I the NY strip with mushrooms and marsala both were very good but the sides served with our dishes were very poor. Over cooked vegetables and potatoes swimming in something and tasteless. Restaurant was very busy but our service was excellent. They still have some work to do transferring the quality from their market into the restaurant. Maybe we just have to give them some time.

Made reservations and requested outdoors which wasn't available. They stuck us in their back room which has 0 atmosphere. The food was average, there are too many good italian places with nice atmosphere to go to. Service was average also.

I've been to this restaurant 3 times. The food was a 4 but the service was lacking so I gave it a 3. At lunch one day with a friend, it ended up being a 2 hour lunch due to slow service. Then I went with my husband, and 20 minutes after we had sat down, still no service (even after trying to flag one down and also letting the hostess know). And the restaurant wasn't even busy because we were there at 5:00. So we went to the bar and were served pronto. The manager did comp our drinks so I won't complain too loudly! And the third time I was there with my cousin. The service was okay, but we learned that the sever had had 5 14 hour work days in a row because it was spring break. I think that management could do a better job of managing service. But I will go back as the food was quite good. They also have a wonderful deli.

Third time there. Service was terrible. Our waiter ignored us in favor of bigger parties at nearby tables. When he did show up he acted like he was doing us a favor by taking our orders. Staff appears to be poorly trained and indifferent. Won't be going back there. Too many better places in the area.

This review is for the market only. I have been so excited to have a market that offers prepared foods. Selection is very limited and EXPENSIVE! Brussel sprouts for $12.99 a pound. SERIOUSLY? ? With prices like that, they won't be around long. Also, not one single salad. I'm extremely disappointed. I was so hoping for a wonderful salad bar but would have accepted premade salads. What a shame..... Unless you want a sandwich or a twice baked potato not much to pick from :(

We were excited to see this New York style restaurant open in Bonita Springs. We are giving it a chance as it is early on, but service definitely needs to be improved upon. Not impressed with our hostess last night as the young lady took us to a table we were not happy with. We were with an 86-year-old lady and when we said we did not like the booth near the kitchen she said come with me to another table. I asked if we could wait until she found the other table so as our friend would not have to walk as far and she said no come with me. She needs to be warmed up. The food was very good but the service definitely needs work. Waiting 10 minutes to get a fork so I could join in on dessert with the rest of my guests was not acceptable. We wish you well but may give it several more weeks until service is improved upon.

Startlingly beautiful displays of products and goods, visually jaw/dropping when first walking into this elaborate market. Feels as if walking into Italy, Chicago, or New York City. Visually stunning yet extremely pleasing. What a pleasure to gaze through so many superb butter cookies, biscotti's, desserts, prepared Italian foods both cold and hot, a variety of salads, pizzas, warm dishes, beautiful display of chops and cuts of meat, coffees, olive oils, wines, and many other goods. Gourmet all the way. They have it all and more. Everything is expensive but delicious. However, tried 2 red wines from 2 different visits, neither was very good; one was a mediocre house Chianti for $16.99-expected better and actually poured it out. Tiramisu fabulous, meatballs very good, eggplant parmigiana very good, meatball pizza wow, calamari/octopus salad absolutely wonderful-a bit of seafood heaven. Accommodating service. Not sure how they will make it during the off season with so much $$/quality up front. Good luck. One star deducted for red wines.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
